The original primary bath was outdated: an awkward layout, almost no storage, and floor space that went to waste. They wanted a larger, better-functioning bathroom with a darker, more design-forward look, so we expanded into the closet next door and rebuilt the room from the studs.

The new shower runs two ceiling-mounted rainfall heads plus handhelds, with a floating stone corner bench, a continuous linear shelf, and LED light glowing behind the fluted tile. A linear drain keeps the floor clean and curbless from edge to edge.
The 71-inch matte-black tub anchors the room, paired with a wall-mounted tub filler so nothing interrupts its line. It’s the piece we built the whole dark palette around.
Black ribbon tile runs floor to ceiling, and LED lights hidden behind both the tile and the mirrors bathe the room in a soft glow instead of washing it in overhead light. It’s what gives the bath its dark, calm, end-of-day feel.
The old shower location didn’t go to waste. It became a dedicated makeup vanity with a quartzite counter, its own mirror, and its own lighting.

How it all came together.

The primary bath was a dated, builder-grade room. The layout was inefficient and cramped, storage was tight, and the way the space was divided left the room feeling smaller than it really was. It wasn’t the place the homeowners wanted to start and end their day.

The homeowners wanted to repurpose closet space to create a more open, spa-inspired bathroom. The room didn’t need an addition, just a reimagined layout that would give the client’s newly selected finishes room to shine.

We proposed absorbing the closet and reworking the whole layout: a much larger walk-in shower, the 71-inch freestanding tub, a dedicated toilet room with a pocket door, and a floating vanity with storage. The old shower location became a separate makeup vanity, so a spot that used to do one job now does another.

The look the homeowners signed off on was dark and deliberate. We pulled samples and worked through the palette with them: black ribbon tile running floor-to-ceiling, quartzite counters, wall-mounted matte-black faucets, a matte-black tub, backlit mirrors, and LED light tucked behind the tile so the room glows rather than floods. They saw the whole mood before we built it.

What was a cramped, dated bathroom is now a dark, calm retreat where everything feels intentional. The walk-in shower has two ceiling rainfall heads over a floating stone bench, the matte-black tub sits against the backlit tile, and the round mirrors and crystal pendants give the vanity wall its own glow. Every fixture finally has room to breathe, and the storage they never had is built into the floating vanity and tower cabinets.
The builder-grade room is gone. In its place is a dark, relaxing bath where the shower, the tub, the makeup vanity, and the toilet room each have their own zone, and there’s plenty of storage. The finished look is fully custom, and it came together in six weeks.
Yes. This bath grew by absorbing the closet next door, which let us relocate every fixture and add a separate toilet room and makeup vanity. Our Colorado Class C Residential Contractor license lets us handle structural and layout changes in-house, and we engineer and permit that work during the design phase so it’s fully planned before construction starts.
We handle it. Every project starts with a design phase where we rework the layout, choose tile, cabinetry, fixtures, lighting, and finishes, and review samples with you. By the time construction starts, every decision is locked in. On this project, the design phase was a focused two-week sprint, and even on that timeline, nothing was left to chance.
It depends on the scope. This full primary bath, including expanding into the closet and rebuilding all the plumbing and electrical, took six weeks. We’ll give you a realistic timeline during the design phase, and because our in-house crew is on site every day, we tend to be able to complete projects faster than other contractors
