The Vision: Independence Without Isolation Our clients in Downtown Littleton approached us with a unique challenge: they needed a comfortable, private living space for their mother that felt like a true home, not just a spare bedroom. The goal was to create a fully independent "apartment" within their existing footprint that balanced privacy with family connection.
The D&D Solution: A Modern Mother-in-Law Suite We designed a custom multi-generational living suite that prioritizes accessibility, style, and function.
- Custom Kitchenette: To provide true independence, we installed a full-service kitchenette featuring custom sage green cabinetry, durable quartz countertops, and full-size appliances. This allows for private meal prep and morning coffee without needing to access the main house.
- Accessible Luxury Bath: Safety doesn’t have to look clinical. We designed the bathroom with aging-in-place principles, featuring a spacious walk-in shower, modern black fixtures, and a custom vanity that maximizes storage.
- Seamless Integration: The addition was designed to blend perfectly with the home's original architecture, ensuring the new suite feels like it has always been there.
The Result The finished project is a bright, modern, and highly functional space that allows our client's mother to live independently while remaining close to family. As the homeowners noted, we successfully "maximized the space" to create a fantastic, welcoming home.
