A primary suite remodel that grew into a renovation of the whole south wing.
The homeowners inherited this Greenwood Village home, and the whole south side felt stuck in another era: awkward layouts, purple bathroom finishes, wallpaper, and even carpet in the kids’ Jack-and-Jill bath. We started in the primary suite and reworked the entire wing into one cohesive space.

"We had the privilege of seeing on a daily basis how they work, interact, and care for their craft, and it’s impressive stuff. We are so grateful for their attention to detail and patience, especially since we can be picky! They did a truly beautiful job. We are so glad that we entrusted our home to this stellar group and hope you do yourself the same favor.”

The primary shower is curbless, with custom glass built around a central column that hides all the plumbing inside. The result is a clean, open shower with nothing to step over and no exposed pipework.
A new sitting area with a large picture window and a sliding glass door connects the primary suite straight to the patio. It pulls in natural light all day and frames the mountain views that the old layout ignored.
Seven pocket doors slide into the walls instead of swinging into the rooms, which freed up usable square footage across the wing without giving up a single doorway.
Custom tile runs through every space, including playful fish scale tile in the kids’ bathroom and detailed tile work in the toilet room. The selections carry the family’s mid-century style into the smallest rooms.
A conversation, not a commitment.
How it all came together.
01
The south wing was a run of dated, disconnected rooms. The bathrooms had purple finishes, wallpaper, and carpet in the kids’ Jack-and-Jill bath, and the layouts were awkward for how the family used the space from day to day. The primary suite and the shared kids’ bath got used the most, and they were the most frustrating to live with.
02
The real problem wasn’t any single room. It was that, like many homes, piecemeal projects and one-off updates had been completed over the years, so no design elements were relevant or connected. By treating the entire south wing as one project, it could look like one intentional space while staying cohesive with the rest of the home.
03
We proposed reworking the layouts across all three bathrooms and the bedrooms at once: relocating plumbing and electrical, redesigning the primary suite around a new sitting area with a picture window, and adding a large sliding glass door that opened to the patio for light and the mountain views. Because this was a fully permitted project, we drew architectural plans to meet county requirements and support the structural and layout changes before construction started.
04
We built 3D renderings of each space so the homeowners could see the new layouts before construction started, then worked through selections in detail, reviewing samples of tile, cabinetry, and finishes to land on their minimal, mid-century style. We stayed in close communication the whole way through our client portal, Buildertrend, to upload daily progress, photos, and updates to one place. By the time the crew started, every decision was settled.

What was once a collection of dated, awkward rooms is now a cohesive, intentional part of the home. The primary suite feels like a brand-new space, with better flow, far more natural light, and direct access to the patio and mountain views. The finishes throughout reflect the family’s minimal, mid-century style, and they lived in the house the entire 15 weeks while we kept the job site organized around their daily routines.
The family didn’t just inherit this home; they inherited its problems. Yet, every layout change and material was carefully chosen, and it shows in how finished and fresh the new South Wing feels. The primary suite’s flow has improved, with patio access and better light, making it the space that catches their gaze the most.
Often, yes. We keep the job site organized and contained so, for most projects, it’s possible to stay in your house if you choose. We’ll talk about anticipated disruptions during the consultation so you can decide what makes the most sense for your household. For larger remodels, we’ll talk through the disruption during the consultation so you can decide what makes the most sense for your household. Some clients stay through the whole thing, and others move out during the messiest stretches.
We handle it. Every project starts with a design phase where we work through layout, 3D renderings, material selections, and the proposal. This project also required architectural plans to meet county permit requirements. By the time construction starts, every decision is already locked in.
It happens! This remodel started as a primary suite and expanded into the whole south wing remodel once it became clear that was the most comprehensive solution. If you want to change the scope, price changes are identified and agreed upon before we do the work.
