“We’re so impressed with the transformation of our basement—from the studs up—into a functional, beautiful living space. Dylan S. created a thoughtful floorplan that made the most of every inch, working seamlessly around the quirks of our 100-year-old home”

Take a look at the details, finishes, and craftsmanship in our recent work.
Every project follows a clear process, designed to keep you informed from start to finish.
Basement costs depend on the size of the space, how custom the layout is, and the level of finish you choose. The starting points below show where projects typically fall.
Starting at
(~$150 per sq ft)
A complete basement finish with a custom layout that works within the existing space. Where possible, we use existing plumbing locations to help manage cost while still creating functional living space. Finishes are more streamlined than our higher tiers, but the framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and insulation get the same level of attention.
Starting at
(~$200 per sq ft)
For homeowners who want more customization, this tier often includes relocated plumbing, custom built-ins, upgraded finishes, and egress windows where required. The layout is fully customized to support spaces like guest suites, home offices, gyms, or entertainment areas.
Starting at
($250+ per sq ft)
Our most customized basements, often with larger guest suites, wet bars or kitchenettes, media rooms, wine storage, and custom millwork. Mechanical systems, lighting, plumbing, and finishes are coordinated throughout so the basement feels fully integrated with the home above.
*Every basement starts with a design phase that ends in a fixed-price proposal. The number we agree on before construction is the number you pay unless you change the scope. Final pricing depends on whether plumbing gets relocated, how custom the layout is, and what specialty features come into the design.
During design, we’ll talk through the features that best support how you plan to use your basement. Depending on your goals, that can include any custom combination of the following.
Insulation in the ceiling reduces noise traveling between the basement and the floor above, so both levels are more comfortable to use at the same time.
Spray foam along the exterior foundation walls improves energy efficiency, helps regulate temperature, and makes the basement more comfortable year-round.
Built-in media centers, fireplaces, and seating areas make a comfortable space for movie nights, watching the game, or time with family and friends.
Built-in cabinetry, shelving, and storage keep seasonal items, games, and everyday belongings organized without taking up floor space.
A wet bar or kitchenette makes it easier to entertain, prep snacks and drinks, or host overnight guests without going upstairs.
For a dedicated wellness space, a steam shower or sauna can be built into the basement bathroom.
Whole-home water filtration can be included as part of the remodel, providing filtered water throughout the home.
If your remodel increases hot water demand, a tankless water heater provides more consistent hot water while improving energy efficiency.
Most basements take six to 12 weeks or longer, depending on the scope. A straightforward finish within the existing plumbing locations runs on the shorter end; projects that relocate plumbing, add a full bathroom or kitchenette, or include extensive built-ins take more time. Because basement finishes start from scratch, the heavy planning happens in the design phase, and the build tends to move predictably from one stage to the next.
Yes. Even with a rough-in setup, we can relocate existing plumbing or install a sewer ejector pump where the basement depth doesn’t allow for gravity drainage. We discuss plumbing needs during the design phase and plan ahead for moving existing plumbing or installing new lines and fixtures.
Builder rough-ins are rarely where you’d actually want a bathroom or kitchenette, so relocating plumbing is a normal part of a basement build. The plumbing layout is part of the design phase, so by the time construction starts, the lines are planned around the room layout instead of the other way around.
Most basements need either a panel upgrade or a dedicated subpanel for the new circuits. We evaluate your existing panel during the in-home consultation and include the electrical work in your fixed-price proposal. Every D&D Remodeling basement gets its own dedicated subpanel, whether or not the main panel needs to be replaced.
Basements are where behind-the-wall surprises show up most often in things like foundation cracks, mold, or rotting framing. We build a contingency for the typical issues into our fixed-price proposal, so the small ones get handled without a separate conversation. Should we find something more significant, we’ll walk you through your options, give you a written change order with the price, and only proceed once you’ve approved it. We don’t surprise you with a bill at the end of the project.
Four distinct values guide every D&D Remodeling project.
Your remodel is built entirely by our in-house team, never by subcontractors assembled job to job. A dedicated, on-site Project Lead oversees the work daily, from initial demolition to the final walkthrough. The people who quote your project are the people who complete it.
The same team manages design and construction, creating a smoother, more cost-efficient process without the need to coordinate between separate companies. Once the design is finalized, your proposal outlines the full project cost, and that figure won’t change unless you authorize a change in scope.
D&D does not take on projects for flips or rental properties. We work with homeowners who see remodeling as a long-term investment in their home.
We believe the final 5% of a remodeling project matters most. Before your project is complete, we walk through the finished space with you, identify any remaining items, and fix them before the final invoice is paid.
